Abstract: Cadw is looking for a supplier to provide and install architectural lighting to the two main external elevations of Flint Castle and provide an electrical supply source by means of an event socket within the Castle walls .
Flint Castle is a Grade I Listed building and is considered a significant historical monument. Its construction dates back from 1277.
The castle has been in the care of Cadw since it was formed in 1984. Although the castle ceased to be a permanently staffed site in the 1990s, Cadw continues its programme of conservation. The Castle structure and the ground within the Scheduled Area is a Scheduled Ancient Monument protected by the Ancient Monument Act 1979 and as such it is an offence to cause harm or damage to it. No unauthorised works or ground disturbance should take place. No fixing to facing stonework is allowed, however fixing to mortar and core stonework may be authorised following approval of a suitable method statement.
